We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department. This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Job Responsibility:
Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols
Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures
Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility
Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination
Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration
Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly
Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS)
Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways
Requirements:
BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification
HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer
Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment with a minimum of 6 months UK hospital (NHS or private) experience
Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Nice to have:
Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable
