Job Description

Radiographer (Bank) at Harbour Hospital in Poole, part of Circle Health Group. Bank Shifts. Salary up to £25.00 per hour. Duties include performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring high-quality images, adapting techniques for patients, providing safe service, monitoring patients, maintaining equipment, assisting with new technologies, and working with multidisciplinary team.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols
  • Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures
  • Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility
  • Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination
  • Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly
  • Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS)
  • Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways

Requirements

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in MRI/CT experience
  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer
  • Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment
  • Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area desirable (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography)
