Job Description:

Silvus Technologies is seeking an RF Test Engineer who will report to the Director of RF Engineering on the RF Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will actively participate in all aspects of the testing of RF hardware for Silvus’ StreamCaster MANET product line.

Job Responsibility:

  • Using RF test equipment to evaluate system performance, evaluate compliance compatibility and troubleshoot operation issues
  • Carry out RF test execution and generate status and test reports
  • Define verification matrix and internal specifications of RF performance
  • Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies
  • Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance
  • Design test fixtures and calibrate test equipment
  • Understand proper use and handling of sensitive RF circuits and equipment
  • Rare local travel to other company locations, as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant multi-GHz RF hardware test experience
  • Hands-on experience using RF test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Vector Network Analyzer etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced with component-level RF circuit characterization and optimization
  • Must be a U.S. Person (permanent resident or citizen)
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of RF guidelines for PCB layout
  • Test automation using Python or LabView
  • Able to work independently and work on several projects concurrently
  • Detail-oriented and a firm commitment to quality
