Radiation Therapist

• Operates radiation therapy equipment to simulate and/or treat patients
• Performs patient’s simulations under direction of physician
• Supply data for and assist in fabrication and/or designs patient immobilization and treatment devices
• Assists in dosimetry procedures
• Provides patient and family adult education regarding simulation, treatment procedures and possible reactions
• Observes patient for treatment reactions and reports reactions to physician/nurse
• Assists in emergency procedures as necessary
• Delivers a prescribed planned course of radiation therapy
• Prepares room and equipment for patient treatments
• Simulates a course of treatment by defining and identifying tumor volume, target volume and treatment volume
• Administer therapy treatments in the delivery of a planned course of treatment to adult patients
• Monitor, and report, undesirable effects, reactions, therapeutic responses and incompatibilities
• Monitor doses to normal tissues within the treatment field

• Associate’s Degree from an Accredited School of Radiation Therapy
• MRAD:TX
• RTT
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)
