Operates radiation therapy equipment in order to simulate and/or treat patients for malignancies. Completes required documentation in medical records, completes charge procedures and Performs quality assurance checks to verify accuracy of all procedures performed. Applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with the prescription and instruction of the Radiation Oncologist.
Job Responsibility:
Operates radiation therapy equipment to simulate and/or treat patients
Completes required documentation in medical records and charge procedures
Performs quality assurance checks
Applies ionizing radiation per prescription
Performs patient’s simulations including alignment, portal marking, and chart documentation
Assists in fabrication/design of patient immobilization and treatment devices
Assists in dosimetry procedures
Provides patient and family education
Observes patient for treatment reactions
Assists in emergency procedures
Delivers prescribed planned course of radiation therapy
Prepares room and equipment for patient treatments
Simulates a course of treatment by defining tumor volume
Administer therapy treatments and monitor doses
Requirements:
Associate’s Degree from an Accredited School of Radiation Therapy
MRAD:TX
RTT
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)
Nice to have:
Bachelors in Radiation Therapy
