Job Description:

The Radiation Oncology Care Coordinator is responsible for assisting patients who contact Baptist Health inquiring about Radiation Oncology services. The Care Coordinator takes phone calls from patients specifically inquiring about proton therapy and provides immediate information and assistance. The Care Coordinator effectively communicates with physicians, scheduling, insurance verification and other resources to offer immediate appointments to patients. The Radiation Oncology Care Coordinator functions as a resource to members of the healthcare team and is able to navigate BHSF and MCI processes to positively enhance the patient experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assisting patients who contact Baptist Health inquiring about Radiation Oncology services
  • Takes phone calls from patients specifically inquiring about proton therapy and provides immediate information and assistance
  • Effectively communicates with physicians, scheduling, insurance verification and other resources to offer immediate appointments to patients
  • Functions as a resource to members of the healthcare team and is able to navigate BHSF and MCI processes to positively enhance the patient experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree is required
  • Experience in Radiation Oncology or healthcare navigation/coordination
  • Able to multi-task and have strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, intra/internet use, EMR navigation)
  • Outstanding customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and telephone communication skills
  • Ability to adapt effectively in unpredictable situations
  • Minimum Required Experience: 5 Years
