Job Description:

BAE Systems are seeking a skilled and adaptable Equipment / Systems Engineer to support the development and delivery of the European Common Radar System (ECRS) Mk2 Radome and Radar. This is a technically challenging role at the heart of a major UK defence programme, working with cutting-edge radar and avionics technology to meet demanding customer requirements. The ECRS Mk2 Radome and Radar are complex systems supplied by key industry partners, and this role is central to ensuring that capability, quality and performance objectives are realised throughout development, qualification and integration.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of ECRS Mk2 Radome and Radar equipment into aircraft integration and flight test phases
  • Participating in supplier engineering reviews and managing supplier deliverables, including Data Requirement Lists (using tools such as Teamcenter, JIRA, PCMS and DOORS)
  • Leading the development of 6000-hour Preliminary Declarations of Design and Performance (PDDPs) with suppliers, ensuring technical quality and stakeholder endorsement
  • Supporting the development and approval of Production Acceptance Test Specifications, working with UK MoD Subject Matter Experts
  • Supporting the ongoing maintenance of legacy M-Scan Radome and Radar equipment, managing changes through the Equipment Alteration Proposal Form (EAPF) and Mods process

Requirements:

  • Strong written, visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and evolving workload independently, while contributing effectively within a team
  • High levels of concentration and attention to detail over extended periods
  • Supplier management within an engineering environment
  • Airborne radar systems integration, ideally including AESA technology
  • Quality management principles
  • BPSS + SC clearance required to start – subject to ITAR & UK Eyes Only
