Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Racking Installation Manager to oversee projects inside Amazon facilities. This role is ideal for a Junior Project Manager or Mechanical Engineer who is looking to step into a field leadership position. The selected candidate will act as the on-site representative for Amazon, responsible for coordinating contractors, tracking progress, and ensuring the project is executed safely, correctly, and on schedule. This is a hands-on project leadership role, not a passive position. The ideal candidate must be assertive, organized, and confident running meetings, managing vendors, and driving project execution. Project Scope: Oversight of warehouse racking system installation; Coordination of contractor teams performing installation work; Ensuring work aligns with construction drawings and Amazon standards; Supporting overall project execution from kickoff through closeout. Note: Prior racking experience is not required. Candidates with conveyor or material handling experience will transition well into this scope.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee contractor installation activities and verify work is completed per prints and specifications
Read and interpret construction drawings to validate installation accuracy
Lead daily site coordination and communication
Prepare and submit daily and weekly project reports including: Schedule status
Safety metrics
Risks and issues
Vendor performance
Run and lead meetings with contractors and Amazon stakeholders
Track project milestones and ensure schedule compliance
Identify risks, delays, and field issues and drive resolution
Maintain strong communication across all stakeholders (Amazon, vendors, project leadership)
Manage escalation issues and ensure alignment across teams
Ensure contractors are following all safety protocols and procedures
Support project lifecycle milestones including: Project kickoff
Progress reviews
Final closeout documentation
Attend and lead project kickoff meetings on behalf of the OE team
Lead weekly vendor calls and maintain contractor accountability
Lead weekly Amazon stakeholder meetings with project updates
Provide weekly risk reporting and program updates
Track and document lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure all reporting and documentation meets Amazon standards
Support site walks, inspections, and quality verification
Assist with final project closeout documentation and reporting requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering a plus
Ability to confidently lead meetings and manage contractors
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Strong organizational and reporting skills
Proficiency with: Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Word
Communication platforms (Teams, Slack, etc.)
Comfortable using mobile devices and communication tools for real-time updates
10-Panel Drug Test required
Must be able to pass standard onboarding requirements
Nice to have:
Experience with Amazon facilities or projects
Familiarity with material handling systems or conveyor installations
Exposure to warehouse racking systems
Experience in a Site Manager, Project Engineer, or Field Supervisor role
What we offer:
Per Diem: $237/day PD based on location (paid for all days)
