Job Description:

This role is responsible for managing Month end close accounting, managing the financial accounts for the business and product area. The role is important to ensure all management and statutory activities related to finance for the specific BT legal entities are done on a timely and accurate basis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Management of results including posting journals, performing reconciliations, first line value add analysis on results
  • Month end close accounting, managing the financial accounts for the business and product area
  • Close the quarter and year end accounts
  • Work closely with colleagues in teams across BT
  • Complying to all Key and Non-Key controls
  • Maintaining adequate backup and support for month end journals and reconciliations
  • Ad-hoc work during the month for specific issues that are identified by the BT team
  • Identifying opportunities to add value to BT’s operation

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance with 3+ years of relevant experience in Record to Report roles (Fixed Assets, Month end close, Internal Trading, Controllership Function)
  • Good command over Excel and other MS Applications
  • Fluent in English language
  • Working with a cooperative and positive attitude in a group setting to achieve common goals
  • Communicating effectively and efficiently while adapting to your audience
  • Ability to handle sensitive and highly confidential information and situations
  • Ability to build strong employee relations
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Analytically minded with strong attention to detail

  • Map as-is and design to-be processes using BPMN/Visio, identifying opportunities for simplification, standardisation, and automation
  • Assess policy and accounting implications, ensuring alignment with GAAP (US GAAP, IFRS/UK GAAP) and company accounting policies
  • Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process/control designs
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and SMEs on ERP configuration, chart of accounts design, subledger integrations, and reporting requirements
