Opportunity to work in the cutting edge of R&D in the biopharmaceutical industry at a globally leading CDMO.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to the delivery of new mammalian expression hosts and vector systems for the expression of complex therapeutic proteins
Engineer mammalian cell lines (e.g. Stable cell line generation, targeted integration and gene editing - e.g. CRISPR-based systems)
Generate mammalian expression vectors using state of the art assembly techniques
Phenotypic characterisation of edited cell lines with relevant assays (e.g. NGS, ddPCR, qPCR and flow cytometry) and cell culture techniques (e.g., shake flask/ bioreactor)
Collate, analyse, evaluate and sign-off data to produce good quality information and traceable records under the direction of the project lead
Presentation of results in written and oral reports
Work closely with other groups within R&D to deliver solutions or improvements in recombinant protein expression (in particular with R&D Process Development & Protein Analytics)
Actively keep abreast of relevant academic literature (e.g., in the field of cell engineering and expression technologies)
Contribute ideas and opinions to scientific discussions to aid the development of new technologies
Working both individually and as a team player - working with a high degree of flexibility
Execute studies in support of technology or process development projects
Supports development of study plans
Maintains accurate and timely records to appropriate quality standards for self and team, prepares high quality data summaries
Requirements:
BSc/MSc Degree in Life Sciences / Science/ Molecular Biology
Practical experience within in an industrial/academic setting is desirable
