Job Description

The Research and Development (R&D) Intern will help light duty engine oil group to do formulation blending and testing, specifically in the Aramco projects, GF-7, and competitive assessment. This position will need to sit at our R&D Lab in Lexington, KY, this internship has the ability to also continue past the summer and into Spring and Fall semesters, if applicable

Job Responsibility

  • Following Valvoline RC 14001 rules to perform job safely
  • Getting familiar with our VLIMS system to collect and record data
  • Making formulation blending and collect viscosity metrics data
  • Performing bench top testing required for engine oils
  • Performing data analysis and communication with formulators and scientists
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering college program
  • Good team work mentality
  • Good communication skills
  • Good computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 40lbs

Previous experience in a scientific lab
