Job Responsibility
Complete a program of pilot plant experiments under management direction for a given project
Carry out technical tests in order to characterise product
Accurately record experimental results and communicate these to the Process Development Team /Manager and other R & D/ sourcing unit functions if required
Design & construct an experimental processing rig through selection & assembly of the suitable Pilot Plant equipment
Assist Process Development Manager/ senior members of staff with Factory Main Plant Trials
Accurately prepare Deodorant product samples, at Bench & Pilot Scale for Specification building & Consumer Tests
Assist manager with Manufacturing/ Supply Chain support on process issues
Through process experimentation support raw material qualification, raw material, product & process specifications
Assist Processing colleagues in the day to day functioning of the Pilot Plant including when required training of students & new starters/ colleagues
Carry out Process Safety Risks assessments for Pilot Scale experimentation for management approval being cognisant of any safety in manufacturing legislation
Requirements
Graduate Calibre – degree in Chemical Engineering/Science/Engineering or equivalent experience in capability field
Pilot plant scale up
Emulsion processing and characterisation
Practical experience in Factory Processing or Laboratory environments
Experience, knowledge or strong interest in digital software / programming such as Python, Minitab, MATLAB, PowerBi
Ability to communicate learnings effectively to a global network
Strong ambitions and independency
Eligibility to work in the UK

Over seas travel may be required
Manual handling daily, operating industrial equipment, noise exposure, use of steam, compressed air & 415V electrical equipment
Chemical/ powder handling with PPE at Pilot & Factory scale
