R&d Intumescent & Process Specialist

• Lead research and development initiatives to design new products and systems
• Improve and adapt existing technologies within the intumescent portfolio
• Take full ownership of a product portfolio focused on intumescent lamination, extrusion, and injection molding
• Act as a key technical reference providing expert support to internal stakeholders and external customers
• Conduct patent and literature reviews
• Develop project plans, test formulations on a lab scale, and extrapolate them to production processes
• Design, monitor, and analyze fire test programs
• Source new raw materials
• Collaborate with internal experts, operations, universities, suppliers, and external partners
• Train stakeholders on technologies/product performance
• Support grant and patent applications
• Lead projects by defining scope, conducting risk analyses, and preparing decision meetings
• Manage project databases and development plans
• Coordinate and delegate tasks within the team
• Report progress to stakeholders
• Oversee laboratory management
• Clarify and define technical requests
• Oversee material technology and performance for the assigned portfolio
• Define, perform, or commission specific analyses and tests
• Evaluate test results and deliver technical reports
• Report hazardous situations
• Properly utilize laboratory materials and PPE
• Actively contribute to prevention and environmental policies

• Master of science (e.g. in material engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering)
• 3-5 years in a similar role
• English language proficiency at B2 level (required)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Very good knowledge on modelling related to building materials & systems and validation of it with test data
• Very good knowledge on Artificial Intelligence
• Good knowledge on behaviour of building materials and building performances
• Excellent organizational skills
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
