Job Description

ATI is seeking to hire a Research and Development Intern for our Summer 2026 Internship Program. This position will be based in Cudahy (Milwaukee County), WI and will run from June to August 2026. As an intern at ATI, you’ll gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams that do truly exceptional things. The projects and skills outlined will be guided and directed by an established ATI-Professional in your field of interest.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze mechanical property data for customer reports
  • Review processing data to support material investigations
  • Learn about our operations in manufacturing critical components for aerospace and heavy industrial application
  • Assist our Design Engineers with project and R&D support
  • Work on projects related to critical forging and heat treatment operations in producing the jet-engine components

Requirements

  • Must be a sophomore or above in college
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering or related degree
  • Able to report onsite to Cudahy for a June 2nd, 2025 Start Date

Nice to have

  • 3.0 or above GPA
  • Previous Internship experience in Metallurgical Engineering or research and development

  • Support the design and execution of experiments using statistical/DOE-based approaches
