Job Description:

The Research and Development (R&D) Intern will help the Technology team characterize various lubricating greases and assist in R&D activities. This is a continuous internship opportunity that will work through the summer and into the spring and/or fall semester and can be flexible with your school schedule.

Job Responsibility:

  • Characterization of greases for commercial activities support
  • Characterization of greases to support R&D activities
  • R&D related materials synthesis
  • Evaluating/Screening commercial raw materials and additives for various projects
  • Processing/recording data from commercial and R&D activities as required
  • Assisting in addressing customer related issues/field problems
  • Maintenance of testing equipment and materials
  • Getting familiar with our VLIMS system to collect and record data
  • Performing data analysis and communication with formulators and scientists
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering college program
  • Good team work mentality
  • Good communication skills
  • Good computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
  • The ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25lbs

Nice to have:

Previous experience in a scientific lab
