Our department is seeking an electrical engineer (R&D Electrical Engineer) to join multidisciplinary teams that are designing and developing advanced electronic systems.
Job Responsibility
Lead the planning, documentation and execution of the qualification plan for two new PRT (Product Realization Teams)
Work with project lead to develop and document qualification plan for two new PRT
Coordinate all the resources and planning needed to execute multiple functional and environmental testing needed for qualification
Oversee the actual qualification testing for these two teams including oversight for internal team members and coordination with external testing stakeholders
Document all the test results
Lead planning and coordination meetings involving internal and external teams to execute these tests
As needed, develop qualification testing capability including possible stand along testers or portable test and data acquisition subsystems
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development
Position requires an active DOE Q-level security clearance (or equivalent) to start
Nice to have
Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation)
Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team of designers and test engineers
Outstanding verbal and written skills, including the ability to develop and present briefings that are clear and compelling
Masters degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or computer engineering
3 or more years experience with test equipment development including experience with scripting tools such as Python
3 or more years experience with functional and/or environmental testing coordination and execution
3 or more years in assembly and testing of electromechanical subsystems
