Job Description:

Technical lead for an active portfolio of tooling, fixture, lifting device, and automation improvement projects at a high volume commercial vehicle assembly plant. Own design output from concept through release. Interface directly with plant operations, quality, and manufacturing engineering leadership.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead end to end design: tooling, lifting assists, ergonomic fixtures, automation
  • Develop 3D models, drawings, and BOMs (Siemens NX preferred)
  • Support vision based quality system integration
  • Conduct design reviews with plant engineering & operations
  • Manage multi project workload in fast paced production environment
  • Coordinate and direct offshore design support resource
  • Mentor junior onsite engineer

Requirements:

  • 10+ years manufacturing/industrial design engineering
  • Automotive, commercial vehicle, or heavy equipment assembly environment
  • Fixture & tooling design, ergonomic lift assists, process improvement
  • Siemens Teamcenter preferred and Siemens NX experience required
  • ASME BTH 1 or similar lifting device standards experience
  • Vision system / automation line integration experience
  • Strong GD&T and engineering drawing skills
  • Ability to work independently onsite at a manufacturing facility
  • A Bachelor’s or Higher Degree is the minimum entry required for the position

Nice to have:

  • Class 6-8 truck, bus, or commercial vehicle manufacturing
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience
  • Experience leading small design teams or offshore coordination
