Ability to use a tape measure and read a level
Basic carpentry skills are an asset
Willing to work overtime when required
Hold a valid driver’s license
Comfortable working at heights
Able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds safely

Job Responsibility

Operate various forms of drilling equipment
Operate electric diamond wire saws to cut large blocks of granite from the open pit quarry
Drilling holes with a pneumatic hammer drill in large granite blocks and then using wedges/shims to break the stone into rough stock blocks
Occasional use of a jackhammer to drill large holes for various purposes
Follow policies and procedures to ensure quality work
Maintain a clean work area
Work safely, according to guidelines and training, to prevent possible injuries to self and others
Perform additional duties as required
