Job Description:

As a Quarry Operative, you’ll primarily operate mobile plant machinery to support safe quarry activities, including: Extracting slate block from the quarry face; Transporting materials to our onsite slate manufacturing facilities; Assisting with general quarry operations as needed. You’ll work in a hands-on environment, surrounded by skilled colleagues who take pride in their craft – and who know how to have a laugh along the way.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate mobile plant machinery to support safe quarry activities

  • Transporting materials to our onsite slate manufacturing facilities
  • Assisting with general quarry operations as needed

Requirements:

  • Hold a full UK driving licence (due to our rural location)
  • Have an interest in the construction materials industry and mobile plant machinery
  • Have experience operating mobile plant (e.g. articulated dump trucks, excavators) in a quarry environment – this is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided
  • You are happy to be working outside in all weathers
  • Our current working pattern is days, but future shift work may be required.
