Job Description

As a Quarry Operative, you’ll primarily operate mobile plant machinery to support safe quarry activities, including: Extracting slate block from the quarry face; Transporting materials to our onsite slate manufacturing facilities; Assisting with general quarry operations as needed. You’ll work in a hands-on environment, surrounded by skilled colleagues who take pride in their craft – and who know how to have a laugh along the way.

Job Responsibility

Operate mobile plant machinery to support safe quarry activities
Extracting slate block from the quarry face
Transporting materials to our onsite slate manufacturing facilities
Assisting with general quarry operations as needed

Requirements

Hold a full UK driving licence (due to our rural location)
Have an interest in the construction materials industry and mobile plant machinery
Have experience operating mobile plant (e.g. articulated dump trucks, excavators) in a quarry environment – this is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided
You are happy to be working outside in all weathers
Our current working pattern is days, but future shift work may be required.
