Quantum Device Fabricator

• Fabricate nanoscale and microelectronic devices to project specifications
• Troubleshoot and refine fabrication processes to improve reliability, reproducibility, and performance
• Optimise existing protocols and develop new fabrication techniques
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of all fabrication processes
• Contribute to technical reports and presentations
• Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to support CSIRO's scientific objectives
• Respond to challenges constructively and with initiative

• Relevant trade certificate, diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in device packaging, engineering, materials science, or physics
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in micro- and nanostructured thin-film device fabrication in a clean room environment
• Proven expertise in device fabrication techniques such as photolithography, wet/dry etching, wire bonding, and encapsulation
• Experience working to achieve tight technical specifications and deliver work to agreed timelines
• Demonstrated high level of manual dexterity, with proven ability to work in an organised manner and to be details orientated
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining and improving quality control processes

Experience in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting within cleanroom and laboratory environments, including thin-film deposition and vacuum systems, as well as familiarity with materials and electronic characterisation tools (e.g., Atomic Force Microscopy, I–V measurements)
