The Construction Quantity Surveyor / Estimator (Civils) is responsible for the preparation of accurate cost estimates, budgets, and commercial management of civil engineering projects. The role supports tendering, cost control, procurement, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within budget and in line with contractual requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Provide costs of proposed projects and survey/cost completed works
Prepare detailed forward plans of work commitments and appropriate labour requirements
Meet with clients and visit sites to discuss project requirements
Identify commercial risks and develop appropriate responses
Work alongside Jnr QS to ensure all tenders are sent out by cut off dates
Liaise with departmental staff, client departments, contractors, suppliers and statutory authorities in matters relating to work as appropriate
Monitor and control the day-to-day finance of all estimated contracts, up to and including production of final accounts
Monitor subcontractors, safety practices, construction progress and material needs including and changes which may impact costs
Identify VO requirements and issue them in accordance to and contractual changes
Write detailed reports detailing costs and progress for clients
Project monthly figures, based on overheads vs invoicing, liasing with the Project Co-ordinator to achieve this
Regularly update the Eque2 system to ensure the finances/comments are kept up to date for all live projects
Following team procedures to ensure progress
Compile Cashflows for each project
Ensure a detailed handover from tenders to projects is provided
Keep folders up to date with correct information
Requirements:
Proven experience of managing all projects from inception to completion
Ability to interpret, understand and organise construction and buildings plans and specifications
