Job Description:

Vertu Motors plc Group of Companies, are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to be based at the Vertu Support Centre in Gateshead. Job Responsibility:

To produce accurate construction budgets for all property development projects
Produce monthly costs reports to accurately monitor the Property development Capital expenditure
Final Accounts reporting to the accounts team
Monitor actual construction cost data from past projects to improve the accuracy of the construction project budgets
Lead the tendering and procurement process on all construction project, coordinating with the PQS and Project Managers including large maintenance contracts
Lead on all QS tasks to advise the Project Managers on contract issues, valuation, variations and final accounts

Requirements:

Quantity Surveying
JCT Building Contract
Construction specification
Contractor Negotiation
Health and Safety Awareness
Strong Financial Understanding
Strong Logic and Analytical Capabilities
Excellent Communicator
Understanding of Project Management, Building Surveying, or Architectural practices
BSc(Hons) in Quantity Surveying
Professionally Qualified - RICS (preferred, not essential)
Contract Management (JCT D&B and Minor Works)
Cost Management / reporting
Change management and control
Valuations
Procurement & Estimating
Excellent knowledge in Commercial Construction
Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering
Over 5 years experience as Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveying
Consultant or contractor background
Membership of RICS is advantageous
Motor Retail experience advantageous
