As a Quantity Surveyor, you will provide key commercial support to project teams, ensuring effective cost control and contractual compliance across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Projects typically range from £200k to £10m+, offering exposure to varied and complex schemes. You will be responsible for managing commercial processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, and mitigating risk, while working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibility:
Accurate cost and value reporting across projects
Cash flow forecasting and cost management
Preparation and management of monthly CVR reports
Administration of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
Subcontractor procurement, management, and financial control
Preparation of applications for payment
Managing variations, claims, and additional payments
Liaising with clients and key stakeholders on commercial matters
Supporting site teams with cost forecasting and financial performance
Ensuring compliance with internal commercial processes
Requirements:
Experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within construction or civil engineering
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
Experience managing subcontractors and commercial processes
Degree/HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or similar
Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have:
Membership of RICS (or working towards)
CSCS Card
Experience within water or civil engineering sectors
