Job Description

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to join a market-leading highways infrastructure business delivering some of the UKs most important maintenance and improvement projects? Our client is the UKs leading highway maintenance contractor, delivering innovative solutions across planned and reactive maintenance programmes as well as major highway improvement schemes. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their established Highways team.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare, submit and secure approval for monthly payment applications
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions
  • Develop and manage target cost contracts, including cost forecasting and risk mitigation
  • Monitor and control project costs against budgets and forecasts
  • Compile and analyse cost reports and commercial performance reviews
  • Prepare and review subcontractor packages, valuations and final accounts
  • Support change management processes, including the assessment, pricing and negotiation of variations
  • Assist with the preparation of tender documentation and procurement strategies
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate cost capture and timely reporting
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support efficient project delivery

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years Quantity Surveying experience, ideally within infrastructure or civil engineering environments
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 Target Cost Contracts
  • Experience managing payment applications, CVRs and commercial administration
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced Excel skills

Nice to have

Experience using CEMAR and/or Causeway CPA would be advantageous
