We have exciting opportunities for undergraduate Quantity Surveyors to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor. You will get hands-on experience within a dynamic and progressive company. Job Responsibility:
Support the compiling, submission and management of monthly payment applications and variation accounts to customers
Assist in the review of contractual documentation and assessment of risk profile
Support the negotiation of agreeable contractual positions with clients that protect the company’s interests
Update and support production of monthly cost reports and assess the profitability of projects
Support the teams in the field with contract administration, issuing of contractual notices and ensuring entitlements are recognised and secured
Assist in updating and maintaining live client contract files
Issue information internally and to clients
Liaise with finance department on cash collection and invoicing
Arrange and attend various contractual and financial meetings
Compile and issue commercial handover packs
Conduct self in a way that reflects and promotes the Van Elle company values
Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures
Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake
Requirements:
Undertaking a degree in Quantity Surveying
Able to successfully manage workload and work to deadlines
Be able to demonstrate practical experience from construction or similar transferrable skills
IT competent in Microsoft packages
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure
Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
Effective planning and organisation skills
A structured approach to problem solving
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, mathematical and technical skills
Ability to challenge people and situations in a constructive objective manner
Awareness of the relevant legal and safety regulations
Eligible to work and live in the UK
Flexibility to travel in the UK
Nice to have:
Valid CSCS would be beneficial
A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable)
