Join us as a Quantitative Developer at the Barclays Investment Bank in the Equities and Hybrid Products team, which is part of the Global Quantitative Analytics group. Your role will primarily involve software development tasks on a low-level equity pricing library written mostly in C++, but you will also take advantage of scripting languages when appropriate. In your role, you will support the development of analytics for quantitative investment strategies, enabling robust pricing and risk management for rules-based strategies and the products that reference them. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise in an environment that will give you access to a range of financial products. Prior experience in quantitative finance is advantageous but not mandatory – willingness to learn and comfort with mathematical concepts are excellent substitutes.
Job Responsibility:
Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets
Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions
In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics
Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries
Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment
Requirements:
Have strong programming fundamentals in C++
Be comfortable working with large-scale software libraries
Be willing to learn new financial products quickly
Hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant STEM field
Have excellent written and verbal English-language skills
Nice to have:
Previous experience with scripting programming languages such as Python
Willingness to learn new business processes and programming languages as needed
The ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders
