As a Quality Technician at NP Aerospace, you will play a key part in protecting the standards behind our personal armour products, with a focus on armour plates and ballistic helmets, and the potential to support other product areas as the business continues to grow. This is a hands-on quality role suited to someone who enjoys detail, clear standards and practical problem solving. You will work closely with Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams, helping to maintain strong quality control and traceability in a highly regulated defence environment. Job Responsibility
Protect product quality by ensuring identified standards, specifications and procedures are consistently met
Get hands on with inspection, using the right tools, gauges and measurement equipment to confirm products meet requirements
Carry out product conformity inspections against drawings and other specified documentation, applying your knowledge, training and mentoring support where needed
Capture and communicate clear findings on product conformity, including any issues relating to equipment, methods, specifications, inspection approaches and tolerances
Keep traceability watertight by reviewing, updating and reporting quality data accurately and on time
Use Statistical Process Control where required to spot trends early and support right first time delivery
Provide objective compliance updates, including inspection status, to NP Aerospace management and key stakeholders
Approve supplier product for release to Production (GI INSP), helping to keep production moving without compromising standards
Take ownership of non-conformity control by raising NCM documents and ensuring non-conforming material is identified, segregated and managed correctly
Support investigation and prevention by completing 5WHY analysis for NCR and 8D activity and helping drive actions through to closure
Share results at the right level, working closely with Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to solve problems quickly and prevent repeat issues
Support SQE activity and coordinate with Quality Inspectors on live project requirements
Requirements
Working knowledge of inspection techniques, including metrology scanning and FAIRs
Confident using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook to record, analyse and present information clearly
Experience supporting metrology calibration of onsite equipment, ensuring measurement systems remain reliable and in control
Ability to complete basic R and R and capability studies, using data to support quality decisions and improve consistency
Working knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, with a strong focus on safe working practices
Able to work accurately to verbal and written instructions and defined standards, maintaining attention to detail under pressure
Ability to read technical drawings with a solid understanding of GD and T
Experience completing FAIR analysis and producing clear reports and presentations that stand up to review
Strong data discipline, with the ability to input, validate and maintain accurate records and traceability information
Experience of using AI tools or demonstrates a willingness to learn and apply AI in role
