Job Description

The quality technician will perform inspection and verification of precision components in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Use calipers, micrometers, height gages, comparator, go-no/go gages, and CMM on sample product
  • Perform process capability studies and Gage R & R studies
  • Perform in-process testing and communicate deviations from requirements or unacceptable trends to the Production Superintendent and Quality Manager
  • Record test data and apply statistical process control (SPC) procedures to specified characteristics
  • Assist Production Supervisor/Plant Manager in providing dimensional feedback after corrective actions have been implemented
  • Maintain traceability of product through the inspection process
  • Write NCMR reports on nonconforming product to the hold area
  • Interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience in quality and use of gauges
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Forklift certified or ability to be certified by employer
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and bend or stoop throughout the work period

Nice to have

Experience with magnetic particle inspection is a plus
