We are seeking an experienced Distribution Quality Technician I to join our leadership team in Atlanta, GA. The Quality Technician I provide the leadership necessary to establish and maintain quality levels of products through the entire value chain driving an effective quality system. In this role, you are responsible for quality compliance of all functions and driving continuous improvement to support our receiving, value services (kitting and labeling), rework, and shipping operations. The successful candidate will foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and open communication, and promote employee engagement with the team that enables the team to meet business objectives. This position reports directly to the Distribution Quality Manager. This position may require periodic weekend/evening work. This is a 2nd shift position and the hours are 2:30-11:00p EST.
Job Responsibility:
Safely operates PIV equipment (forklifts, clamp trucks, reach trucks, and order pickers) to load, unload, sort, stack, and stage product
Drive continuous improvement toward defect-free processes that create loyal customers and promote a learning culture with the team
Perform daily audits and quality checks for all areas in the Distribution Center throughout the shift per the documented audit sequence procedures
Report and follow up on repeat quality issues with responsible teams to help brainstorm process or design improvements
Participate in special projects to develop or improve quality policies, programs, or activities
Begin the communication process and initiate product quarantines in the event of repeat serious issues found during the audits and lead product quarantine reworks, as needed
Execute processes, including finished goods rework, re-boxing, and scrap
Record results for technical reporting
Inspect raw materials, goods in process, and finished goods for proper appearance, packaging, and labels
Use a wide variety of industrial machinery or hand tools to make repairs to defects related to quality
Make suggestions for quality improvements and work with production and engineering teams
Requirements:
High School diploma/GED
Must have demonstrated sense of responsibility, and accuracy in performance of past and present job assignments
Dependability and attendance are significant factors in the requirements of the job
Ability to read and understand specifications and instructions
Demonstrated knowledge and skill level with software programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, ETQ and Oracle
Annual skills update training, as needed
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of driving continuous improvement

Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team

Knowledge of UL, CE, and transportation regulations is a plus
