This position maintains the operational effectiveness of the Roanoke Rapids quality labs and determines the dimensional and visual acceptance. Quality lab technician will perform lab measurement on inserts and report findings to quality management. Quality technician are also responsible for calibration, inspection, maintenance of equipment as well as other projects.
Job Responsibility:
Perform dimensional and visual measurements using comparators, Keyence’s, hard gages, and other equipment
Perform Calibration and maintain and upkeep Calibration software
May include in process inspections of inserts
May include internal auditing of processes
Ability to read and follow dimensions and directions found on a part print
Perform Cp. and Cpk. measurements for certification process
Ability to understand process routing
Conduct special testing/analysis to support plant problem solving and testing on specific engineering projects
Interface with equipment venders as needed
Has the ability to work with SAP and data entry
Maintain timely and accurate records
Coordination, communication, and organization are vitally important to the success of the position
Position reports directly to the Quality Manager but has significant interaction with all departments
Job is diverse in nature with self-motivation important to success
Requirements:
High school diploma or recognized equivalent
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Gage Calibration and Maintenance
Must be able to use required computer software (including but not limited to) SAP, Microsoft Office, and Gagetrak
1-3 years of experience preferred
Vocational training or equivalent industry experience preferred
Must be able to effectively use gages and measurement devices that determine compliance to drawing and product specifications
Must be able to retrieve and read drawings
Must be able to read and understand insert identification chart, routings, and operating procedures
Must be familiar and able to properly interpret insert defect criteria
Follows procedures/work instructions for conducting customer certifications
Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise
Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
Must be legally authorized to work in the US (excluding Optional Practice Testing) and not require sponsorship now or in the future
