Job Description:

Position will be responsible for ensuring plant sanitary conditions, and that raw and in-process materials and finished products meet established food safety and quality standards. Responsible for HACCP verification activities. Responsibilities will include making decisions to accept or reject area, equipment, products or materials when deemed insanitary, possibly contaminated, or if the product is determined to be out of Ajinomoto Foods N.A. Inc. specifications. When any deficiency in requirements occurs, it is the responsibility of the FSQA Technician to take appropriate action and inform the appropriate personnel.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure plant sanitary conditions
  • Ensure raw and in-process materials and finished products meet established food safety and quality standards
  • Responsible for HACCP verification activities
  • Make decisions to accept or reject area, equipment, products or materials when deemed insanitary, possibly contaminated, or out of specifications
  • Take appropriate action and inform appropriate personnel when deficiency occurs
  • Monitor quality controls in daily production operations
  • Check, inspect and investigate to ensure GMP’s are followed
  • Verify HACCP plan is being followed
  • Monitor CCPs and CPs
  • Verify production employees are correctly monitoring and documenting CCPs and CPs
  • Keep accurate and complete records
  • Conduct plant testing as required
  • Audit facility product weight control program
  • Assist in root cause analysis of problems
  • Recommend solutions and preventive measures
  • Check operating procedures and institute changes
  • Assist in developing and applying quality controls and related procedures
  • Provide advice regarding safety, sanitation, processing, filling and packaging techniques
  • Perform all other work as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent desirable
  • Meaningful education and experience may be substituted for degree
  • Sufficiently broad experience in food manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Assurance and/or food plant production operations, processes, and policies
  • Limited food manufacturing experience combined with appropriate college degree may be considered
  • Certifications such as HACCP, SQF, or through ASQ and other professional quality associations helpful
  • Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record
  • Fluency in English (Written and Verbal) – required
  • Physical demands: ability to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, taste, smell, use hands, handle, feel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
  • Capable of 24-hour, 7-day a week emergency work assignments
