As a Quality Specialist with AWC, you will be an integral part of our internal quality control team and will guide the organizational efforts towards superior quality overall. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing quality assurance processes, managing quality control activities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Previous work history within the automation, manufacturing, or valve industry is necessary for this position. Job Responsibility:
Comply with all safety rules and company policies
Track Non-Conformances in the documentation and physical process of building valves
Report Errors and lead touch point meetings with key stakeholders
Maintain quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards
Oversee all aspects of quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) processes, ensuring products meet or exceed customer expectations
Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and improve processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to resolve quality-related problems and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Stay current with industry’s best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes
Maintain calibration program for site, ensuring equipment is calibrated at required intervals
Perform 2nd Check of control valves and components as per AWC procedures and manufacturer specifications
Help analyze and report control valve issues and select optimal corrective actions
Interpret schematics for assembly, repair, and reassembly as required
Read and check drawings, job orders, customer requirements, tooling instructions, and standard charts to determine procedural specifications
Perform various other duties and activities assigned to you within physical constraints of the job
Requirements:
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in process valve testing, reconditioning, modification, and calibration
Proficiency in assembling and setting stops on quarter-turn actuators and valves
Ability to calibrate electro-pneumatic instruments and positioners
Demonstrated history of understanding regulatory requirements (ASME, API, etc)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and TEAMS)
Attentive to detail, good planning and time management skills
Ability to maintain records, and documents and compile and organize reports accurately
Ability to read and interpret manufacturers' requirements and customer specifications
Effectively listening and communicating tactfully, verbally and written
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects up to 49 pounds
Work involves frequent periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning, reaching, and bending at the waist
Nice to have:
Previous inspection experience in an industrial shop setting
Strong attention to detail and precision to ensure optimal control valve performance
Exceptional problem-solving skills, enabling effective selection of corrective actions
