Requirements

3+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection
Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards
Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005”) using hand tools (e.g., indicators, micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation
Ability to adapt to new technology and software
Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products
Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder) to comply with ITAR

Job Responsibility

Conducting precision mechanical inspections at one or more client suppliers in Pittsburgh and the Northeast region
Perform precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials
Inspection may include, but is not limited to, purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawings
Perform surface plate inspection of the first article, in-process, and lot sample parts if required
Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) if necessary
Visual acuity and the ability to detect defects in highly complex products
Verify documentation packages to industry/commodity-specific standards
Classify defect types and verify rework conducted during the time of the inspection

University Degree or Diploma in mechanical or metallurgical engineering
Having minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field of Oil & Gas/Power/Process specifically in mechanical inspection and expediting (such as static, rotating, steel structure, bulk, valves, etc…)
Knowledge in AWS d1.1, ASME II/V/VIII div.1 and 2/IX, ASME B31.3 and 31.1, SSPC, ISO, API598/6D, etc…

Job Responsibility

Review all applicable quality related documents of Vendors – QAP, ITPs, Procedures & MRB etc. in a timely manner
Coordination with Inspection agency for various activities like arranging inspections on time, review CV of inspectors, review Inspection report and close open punch points, review and provide clearance for compliance
Check and Issue Inspection release note in project software
Proactively interacts with Project Management Team to ensure quality matters are effectively managed in accordance to project specification/standards and other requirements
Carry out inspection at vendor works/site for various items as and when required as per the project
Coordinate for Non-Compliance management activities and ensure closer of NC timely managing during execution of purchase order
