Job Description:

We’re hiring for a Quality Mechanical Inspector position in Warrendale, PA. This is a Full-time opportunity in which you will be supporting the first shift. If you have a passion for mechanical products and a keen eye for quality, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform detailed inspections—visual, dimensional, and physical—on components, assemblies, and raw materials throughout various production phases (including in-process, final, and first article) to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Operate and utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, height gauges, and profilometers to validate part conformity
  • Conduct surface plate inspections and statistical lot sampling based on quality requirements
  • Apply sharp visual inspection skills to identify workmanship issues and product defects, including damage such as burrs, scratches, loose fasteners, dings, and inadequate edge distances
  • Identify and categorize nonconformities and confirm that corrective actions or rework have been properly executed
  • Examine and approve First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, traceable, and compliant with applicable standards
  • Audit and confirm the integrity of supporting documentation to ensure alignment with industry and commodity-specific quality requirements
  • Cross-check shipping documentation for accuracy, confirming part numbers, serial numbers, change notices, and final destination data are correct
  • Safeguard inspected items by verifying appropriate packaging, preservation, and handling prior to movement or delivery.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection
  • Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards
  • Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005”) using hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
  • Experience with certificates of conformance and inspection documentation
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and software
  • Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check
  • Must be ITAR compliant.
