Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the set up and day to day running of the site laboratory and achievement of quality testing according to Divisional and Customer specific requirements
  • Building strong relationships with members of the site management team in order to support them in the delivery of improvement activities across and within the respective departments
  • Responsible for managing site compliance and auditing activities, QMS (quality management systems)
  • Manage the quality of standards and limits detailed in the Quality Procedures for the Site as well as customer specific requirements
  • Support the reduction of Customer complaints and defects, through the use of root cause problem solving the improvement of site standards
  • Manage the Calibration and and availailty of necessary lab and test equipment accoding to Divisional standards
  • Ensure acheivement of minumum test levels
  • Compile and evaluate both KPI and testing data. Present results to site maangement team, identify and challenge negative or static trends in quality and board grade performance
  • Identify and work with Corrugator and Conversion Manager
  • Monitor and when necessary escalate inbound material quality according to DS Smith standards
