Job Description:

We are recruiting a Quality Manager for a major power infrastructure project supporting a large-scale data centre campus near Berlin in Germany. Our client is an established international utility infrastructure contractor delivering complex energy, HV electrical, civil engineering and communications projects across the UK and Europe. This role will suit a Quality Manager with experience in data centres, substations, HV power, utilities, MEP or major construction projects. The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing all quality matters across the project, ensuring compliance with client requirements, German regulations, ISO standards and internal procedures. You will act as the key point of contact for quality on site and work closely with project teams, subcontractors, client representatives and senior management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the implementation and management of the Project Quality Plan
  • Ensure quality compliance across civil engineering and HV electrical works
  • Manage quality systems in line with ISO 9001, DIN, VDE and client requirements
  • Review subcontractor quality plans, documentation and competency
  • Carry out audits, inspections and technical quality checks
  • Manage non-conformances, defects, re-work and corrective actions
  • Maintain quality records, reports, KPIs and project dashboards
  • Support design, pre-construction, commissioning and handover activities
  • Liaise with client QA teams, local authorities and third-party certifiers
  • Deliver quality briefings, toolbox talks and awareness training
  • Support continuous improvement across project delivery
  • Represent the business in client meetings on all quality matters

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ QA/QC experience
  • Background in data centres, substations, HV power, utilities, MEP, civil engineering or major construction
  • Strong knowledge of German quality standards, building regulations and ISO 9001
  • Experience managing subcontractors and quality documentation
  • Ability to lead audits, inspections and quality assurance processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent German and English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook

Nice to have:

  • Data centre project experience
  • Substation or HV infrastructure experience
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, DGQ Quality Manager or equivalent
  • Experience with digital QA tools such as BIM, Aconex or Procore
