Job Description:

The Manufacturing Quality Technician is accountable for protecting our customers by ensuring only compliant materials enter and exit the plant. This role combines comprehensive inspection and testing of incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished composite decking products with data-driven analysis to prevent defects and drive continuous improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintaining documentation and calibrations

Requirements:

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a continuous manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as scheduled
  • Proficiency with using a computer
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Proficiency differentiating shades of color
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Lift, push, and pull, up to 50 pounds
  • Stand and walk around for a 12.5+ hour shift
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and kneeling
  • Ability to operate various different styles of forklifts
  • Wear and operate required safety equipment, including earplugs and safety shoes and glasses
  • Must have proficient color shade sight for materials inspection
  • Read printed reports and data displayed on computer screens
  • Fine motor skills to operate tools, including chop saws, staple guns, calipers and other test equipment

  • Strong English, reading, and writing skills for career advancement, including the ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural documents
  • Previous forklift operation experience

  • Own and maintain block library- ensuring all blocks and grading align with the fit strategy and evolve with customer insight and new category development
  • Lead fit sessions across all categories - capturing outcomes clearly and ensuring they’re actioned through updated specs and blocks within the timeframe set by the critical path.
  • Manage the sealing for the development samples: Protos, SMS, PPS, and Top Samples - ensuring technical clarity and timely turnarounds
  • Work directly with suppliers to resolve construction, fit and quality issues at both sample and bulk stages
  • Conduct factory visits (UK and overseas) to monitor inline production, QC standards, and recommend process improvements
  • Review and analyse testing reports, AQL inspections and QC data, escalating issues and ensuring learnings feed back into the process
  • Own compliance and testing standards across all regions and product categories - ensuring we meet legal, performance and brand thresholds
  • Own and improve internal QA and tech processes - including spec creation, tolerance setting, grading tools, and tech pack documentation
  • Line manage and coach a Junior Garment Tech, helping build internal expertise as our range and volume grow
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers- ensuring tech issues are resolved quickly, and fit standards are consistently understood and upheld
