Job Description:

Responsible for assuring that the necessary testing for contamination and environmental control processes are carried out on a routine basis; Routinely performs analysis of data and looks for trends; Normally receives general instructions on routine work; Receives detailed instructions on new assignments; Should be capable of working independently once trained

Job Responsibility:

  • Routinely monitors the quality of water used in the production of IVD and Research products and may perform trend analysis of the microbial content of the RO/DI water
  • Performs routine monitoring for the viable and non-viable particle counts in the labs
  • Performs routine or periodic bioburden testing
  • Performs calibration, maintenance, and cleaning of instrumentation as required
  • Maintain meticulous records of all testing data, materials used and results of tests
  • Learn to identify microorganisms as they are found during RO/DI water monitoring, environmental monitoring, and bioburden testing
  • Promotes a safe work environment
  • May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment
  • Participates in Environmental, Health and Safety programs
  • Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified
  • Notifies supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

Requirements:

  • Two years of related experience in a regulated industrial or research laboratory or equivalent combination of related experience and education
  • Typically requires a BS/BA in a related scientific discipline and zero to two years of related experience in a regulated industrial or research laboratory or equivalent combination of related experience and education
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Effective organization and planning skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
