Quality & Compliance Oversight; In-Process Inspections; Testing & Commissioning Witness; Documentation & Reporting; Safety & Process Control; Liaison Role

Requirements:

  • Verify transformers meet international standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, ISO) and customer specs
  • Check drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation for accuracy
  • Ensure manufacturing processes follow approved procedures
  • Inspect core stacking, winding, insulation, tank fabrication, and assembly
  • Monitor critical steps like winding tension & alignment, insulation drying (VPD / VTD processes), oil handling and cleanliness
  • Witness routine, type, and special tests such as ratio & polarity tests, insulation resistance & tan delta, applied & induced voltage tests, partial discharge tests, temperature rise tests
  • Confirm test setups, instruments, and results are valid and traceable
  • Review test reports, inspection records, NCRs, and corrective actions
  • Sign off on quality release certificates
  • Coordinate with clients, utilities, or third-party auditors
  • Enforce HSE standards during high-risk operations
  • Ensure proper handling of heavy components and high-voltage testing areas
  • Act as the bridge between manufacturer, utility/customer, EPC contractor, certification bodies
  • Resolve technical disagreements
