Job Description:

BIQ (Built In Quality) Inspector. Rate: £19.55 (up to £39.10) plus regular overtime and monthly bonuses. Quality Inspectors, are you looking to work in a fantastic, modern environment? Great rates of pay and long term stability? With strong MIG welding experience and NVQ (or equivalent) Level 3, you would be ideally suited to this position with the ability to work a 3 shift pattern and an eye for detail. You can grow your skills as we place you on an assignment into Caterpillar Articulated Trucks, Peterlee in a challenging and quality driven manufacturing environment. Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat® Articulated Trucks, currently producing 7 variants used in many industries including mining, construction and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology and a state-of-the-art paint plant.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure proper entry of record information is maintained along with all appropriate documentation to support
  • Detailed inspection of finished fabrications against a pre-prepared checklist
  • Highlighting issues and reporting via logging on an IPad
  • Good verbal communication skills to report into team leads
  • Must be able to work 3 shifts (days, backs and nights)

Requirements:

  • Ensure proper entry of record information is maintained along with all appropriate documentation to support
  • Must be self-motivated with good attention to detail
  • Detailed inspection of finished fabrications against a pre-prepared checklist
  • Ability to use hand held tools (grinder etc)
  • Experience in a similar inspection position and working with thick plate steel
  • Highlighting issues and reporting via logging on an IPad
  • Good verbal communication skills to report into team leads
  • Must be able to work 3 shifts (days, backs and nights)
  • Ideal candidates should have a knowledge of MIG welding such as NVQ Level 3
  • Safety conscious
  • Current, up to date CV required in the first instance
