Job Description

This position supports product leadership and risk management of new product development and sustaining activities.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective performance of testing in conformance with regulations and standards
  • Inspection, analysis of results, determining final disposition of some product and detecting nonconforming conditions
  • Works within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods
  • Adheres to quality guidelines
  • Complies with regulations and standards
  • Identifies basic non-compliance within regulations and standards
  • Maintains appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed
  • Supports product leadership and risk management of new product development and sustaining activities
  • Leads development of risk assessments and test methods
  • Leads component qualifications, design validation / verification and process validation
  • Leads product investigations
  • Ability to make and present risked based decisions
  • Assess product changes against product design
  • Supports translation of design inputs into manufacturing control plans
  • Develop and implement procedures to comply with corporate and industry standards
  • Coordinates and/or directs all aspects of product development activity related to a product line
  • Quality engineering representation on Product Development Teams
  • Prepare and present project updates and technical discussions
  • Participate in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking
  • Support internal and external supplier audits
  • Provide support to the regulatory department in writing technical submissions
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned

Requirements

  • One (1) to two (2) years’ experience
  • Proven ability to correctly interpret drawings and geometric dimensions and tolerances
  • Able to use standard measuring equipment including calipers, Random-Access memory (RAM) optic, micrometers, pin gauges, gage blocks, etc.
  • Previous experience participating in continuous improvement activities
  • Demonstrated understanding in the use of calibrated equipment and ability to follow equipment maintenance repair procedures
  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • BS in Engineering
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in engineering or Quality engineering experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or equivalent industry

Nice to have

  • Prefer experience with Instrons, microscopes, snap gauges and calipers
  • Quality Engineering Certification (ASQ) or equivalent
