As a Quality Group Leader, you will oversee the implementation and execution of GM’s Quality Requirements within the vehicle manufacturing process. You will lead a team of people ensuring operational excellence through effective problem-solving, process capability validation, and strict adherence to the GM Global Quality System. You will partner closely with Plant Quality, Engineering, launch teams, and Manufacturing leadership to secure product quality, manage containment activities, and deliver clear technical guidance on complex quality issues.
Job Responsibility:
Support Vehicle Engineering in the implementation and execution of Global Quality Requirements
Ensure alignment with Global Metric Definitions and monitor plant performance
Maintain and document Launch Manufacturing Quality Readiness Reviews
Actively participate in Plant Quality Manager and Launch Quality Manager meetings
Provide technical mentorship and clear problem definition to the Assembly Plant and Engineering Staff
Lead and coordinate containment activities, evaluation of process capability, and root cause analysis for part rejections
Manage internal quality systems and prepare reports
Oversee the identification and management of critical quality issues at the beginning of each shift
Maintain consistent communication with leaders and assembly areas to ensure proper operator support
Support the launch of new products when applicable
Manage projects assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field
3 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, engineering, or related areas
Intermediate English level
Availability to work on a 4x3 onsite schedule
Strong knowledge of Metallurgy
Strong coaching and auditing skills in quality systems
Nice to have:
Ability to communicate complex technical information both to leadership and to operational teams
Knowledge in statistical problem-solving tools
Knowledge in quality systems
Ability to interpret engineering data, quality metrics, and technical reports
Leadership capabilities with experience managing personnel
