Job Description

A well established, fast growing food and nutrition manufacturer is looking to appoint an experienced Quality & Environmental Manager to lead site quality, laboratory, compliance and environmental performance. This is a senior, hands-on role with real influence across operations, technical and leadership teams, driving high standards, audit readiness and a strong culture of continuous improvement and sustainability.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead site quality assurance, QC laboratories and compliance activities
  • Ensure robust microbial, PCR and analytical testing to support product release
  • Own HACCP, VACCP and TACCP frameworks and feed safety standards
  • Manage ISO-aligned systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, UFAS, FAMIQS, FEMAS)
  • Lead internal and external audits and manage certification bodies
  • Oversee non-conformance management, RCA and CAPA closure
  • Act as site lead for environmental compliance, permits, KPIs and sustainability initiatives
  • Partner with R&D, manufacturing, procurement and external suppliers
  • Deliver quality, technical and environmental training across the site

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Proven quality leadership experience within manufacturing and laboratory environments
  • Strong technical background in microbiology, PCR and laboratory quality systems
  • Hands-on experience with HACCP, ISO standards and third-party audits
  • Working knowledge of ISO14001 and environmental legislation
  • Confident leader with a proactive, detail-driven and improvement-focused mindset
