Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Associate, Experienced, Senior) to support the Air Dominance Quality team in Mesa, Arizona! This position may be located on either 1st or 2nd shift and follows a 9/80 working schedule. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future depending on the business needs. This position will be working on proprietary programs with senior Quality Engineers to support planning reviews, inspection planning development for automated programs, and be responsible for resolving large scale issues be developing metric plans with cross-functional engineering teams. Successful candidates will a technical background with strong communications skills with multi-disciplinary teams and an understanding of first-time quality and continuous improvement. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in data analytics and background in composites and/or electrical fabrication experience.
Job Responsibility:
Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation
Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities
Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances
Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
Works under general supervision
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science or computer science
3+ years of experience in manufacturing or fabrication environment
3+ years of experience using Excel to perform data analysis
3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Nice to have:
Active U.S. Security Clearance
Experience in Model Based Definition (MBD)
Experience with Composites Manufacturing
Experience in a role that required presentation skills
