Quality Engineer

• Monitor and enhance production processes through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Track, analyse, and report on key quality metrics (defect rates, scrap, rework, complaints)
• Investigate in-process quality issues and support decisions on rework, scrap, or use-as-is
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to resolve recurring quality concerns
• Maintain and manage the calibration system for all inspection and measurement tools
• Conduct daily checks on route cards and ensure timely closure of work orders
• Train and support production teams in quality standards, procedures, and inspections
• Carry out surface measurements during first-off, in-process, and final inspections
• Support supplier qualification, audits, and performance evaluations
• Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other regulatory standards

• Previous experience in a Quality Assurance or Inspection role within an engineering/manufacturing setting
• Sound knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and other quality management systems
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and understand tolerancing
• Proficient with precision inspection tools: verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Confident communicator - both written and verbal
• Detail-oriented with a proactive, hands-on approach
• Good IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook
• MRP experience is a bonus
• Solid awareness of Health & Safety practices in a production environment
