Job Responsibility

  • Engineer and improve manufacturing, assembly processes and equipment, applying quality assurance techniques and SAP Quality Management (QM) module tool to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce failure rates, warranty claims and scrap costs during high volume production of seat systems and center consoles at high volume mechatronics systems manufacturing plant in New Boston MI, for delivery to OEM customers
  • Perform quality assurance and control of product and processes during pre-production phase, ramp-up, and series production for assembly and welding lines to support high volume manufacture of passenger vehicle seat structures and center consoles in plant
  • Monitor and reduce failure rates related to OEM vehicle maker/Tier I customer (zero kilometer) and warranty claims by applying Problem Management Professional (PMP) methodology
  • Ensure that mechatronic seat system product and manufacturing processes comply with Customer Specific Requirements (CSR) and International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949 Automotive Quality Management System requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related
  • Twelve months’ experience as Engineer or related, reducing failure rates related to warranty claims, and ensuring seat system product and manufacturing processes comply with International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949 Automotive Quality Management System requirements, or related
