As a Quality Engineer you are responsible for ensuring construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and documented procedures. The role utilises a range of quality assurance tools and processes to identify, document, and manage any non-conformances or workmanship issues, ensuring they are effectively controlled and rectified.
Job Responsibility
Conduct on-site and subcontractor inspections to ensure compliance with ITPs and drawings
Maintain accurate quality documentation, including work lots and records
Prepare and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) through to close-out
Verify implementation of corrective and preventative actions
Manage defects and drive timely resolution
Support surveillance and inspections of subcontracted works alongside the Quality Coordinator
Collaborate with site supervisors to identify and resolve quality issues
Participate in Quality and Construction meetings
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards
Deliver work efficiently within required timeframes
Requirements
Experience with site inspections, ITPs, and construction drawings
Knowledge of NCRs, defect management, and corrective actions
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Collaborative, team-focused approach
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction industry in a similar role
Experience on large-scale construction projects
Understanding of ISO AS/NZS 9001 and quality standards
Knowledge of construction materials and specifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems (e.g. EDMS)
High attention to detail and quality focus
Proactive problem-solving mindset
Strong sense of accountability and reliability
