Syntech Recruitment is supporting the appointment of an experienced Quality Engineer on an 8-month fixed term contract. This role provides quality leadership and assurance across the business, ensuring full compliance with applicable standards while supporting both current and new production activities. The Quality Engineer will work closely with internal stakeholders and customers to drive improvements in Quality, Cost, and Delivery, while maintaining a robust and compliant Quality Management System.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure all activities and behaviours align with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
Own the end-to-end customer and internal complaint resolution process
Lead root cause analysis using structured methodologies (e.g. 8D)
Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions
Maintain clear, professional communication with internal teams and customers
Conduct internal audits in line with recognised standards (e.g. AS9100, NADCAP)
Support and host external audits and customer visits
Raise, manage, and close non-conformance reports and corrective actions
Lead MRB (Material Review Board) activities
Interpret engineering drawings and applicable standards
Maintain and update route cards and supporting manufacturing documentation
Support supplier audits and ongoing surveillance activities
Raise and manage supplier complaints and corrective actions
Maintain the Approved Supplier List
Support supplier selection and approval processes
Own all quality aspects of NPI activity
Apply appropriate quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA and APQP where required
Produce First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
Support customer communication and resolution of NPI-related issues
Create and maintain route cards and supporting documentation
Requirements:
Strong experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confident communicator, able to engage effectively at all levels internally and externally
Strong organisational skills with the ability to self-manage and prioritise workload
Analytical mindset with structured problem-solving capability
Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team
Degree-level qualification in an engineering or quality discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
