Job Description:

Drive Excellence as a Quality Engineer! At Kingspan Insulation we’re seeking a proactive and skilled Quality Engineer to play a key role in elevating product quality and advancing our continuous improvement initiatives. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Castleblayney site in Ireland, where you’ll work closely with our Quality Manager and collaborate across a knowledgeable, high-performing team. As a core contributor to our lean manufacturing system, you’ll support activities within the Quality Pillar framework to ensure our products meet compliance standards, our processes operate efficiently, and our performance consistently excels. Partnering with Operations, you’ll take ownership of problem-solving, drive meaningful improvements, and apply your expertise to strengthen our quality culture and operational results.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop a full understanding of product quality critical characteristics, standards, and third-party certification requirements
  • Apply in-process and final product specifications effectively to ensure consistent conformity
  • Maintain accurate inspection and test plans within SAP, ensuring they are fully understood and followed
  • Support production team leaders in applying quality standards to all manufactured products
  • Carry out product quality inspections and conduct measurement system analyses (including gauge R&R)
  • Identify opportunities to improve production methods or equipment to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Cooperate with management on site-wide continual improvement programmes
  • Lead reporting, investigation, and corrective action implementation following accidents, incidents, or events
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues, including customer complaints
  • Conduct internal process, product, and supplier audits to ensure ongoing compliance with internal, customer, and third-party requirements
  • Support third-party product certification activities and group compliance audits
  • Promote recognised problem-solving tools and techniques to investigate and prevent quality issues
  • Lead improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce the overall cost of quality
  • Perform regular internal audits of Kingspan controls, processes, and procedures to identify deficiencies or opportunities for improvement
  • Plan and implement robust corrective actions to eliminate causes of non-conformities

Requirements:

  • Degree / Diploma level qualification in Engineering, Science or Quality
  • Experience within a similar role
  • Application of problem-solving tools
  • Excellent numeracy skills and ability to analyse data for trends
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and strong workload prioritisation skills
  • Experience of working with various IT programs i.e. MS Word, Excel

Nice to have:

  • Internal auditor qualification
  • Qualification in Lean Manufacturing or equivalent
  • Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to lead quality improvement project teams
  • QC laboratory testing experience
  • Investigating customer complaints

  • Monitor and report daily/weekly/monthly KPI’s via meetings, email, and End of Month reports
  • Analyze data required to understand a problem and develop solutions. This includes, but is not limited to: quality data, manufacturing process data, dimensional data, engineering data, training records, audit results, etc.
  • Investigate and appropriately document quality problems using root cause analysis methods and identify robust corrective actions
  • Create and maintain all relevant Work Instructions, SOP’s, Training Documents, and Workmanship Standards
