You will join our client as a Quality Engineer II, helping to reduce defects, accelerate root-cause identification, and lower the cost of poor quality. You’ll work on bus transit technologies—passenger doors, wheelchair lifts and ramps, e-Bus charging systems, and driver protection barriers—across subsystems and components. You’ll partner with specialists from systems administrators, engineers, technicians, and infrastructure to think clearly, act decisively, and deliver measurable improvements. You’ll collaborate hands-on with manufacturing, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, sales, and supply chain, to strengthen processes and resolve issues. You’ll support production on the shop floor, partner with engineering on new product launches, and work with service teams to address customer concerns. You’ll be part of a team that values collaboration, accountability, and helping others succeed while driving measurable improvements.
Job Responsibility:
Lead 8D and DMAIC initiatives, champion APQP/PPAP readiness, facilitate FMEA risk assessments, and resolve quality inventory issues quickly
Log and track customer complaints, lead containment actions, perform root-cause analysis, and communicate resolutions to customers
Conduct process audits and Gemba walks to identify issues early
approve reworks and support MRB/NCMR activities for timely disposition
Lead structured problem solving using 8D and DMAIC
drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Facilitate PFMEA sessions and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and transit standards
Track APQP/PPAP deliverables for new product launches and validate process readiness
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve supplier quality issues and drive corrective actions
Use ERP, MES, and QMS platforms to manage data, prepare quality reports, COPQ trends, and highlight systemic issues
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
5+ years in quality engineering in manufacturing
At least 2 years in customer-facing roles
Expertise in PFMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA, and Lean/Six Sigma
